William Ussery

William Douglas "Bill" Ussery, Sr., 70, of Doddsville, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at Kings Daughters Hospital in Greenville. Visitation will be 1:00 -2:00 p.m. Friday, May 16, 2014, at Ray Funeral Home. Celebration of Life Services will immediately follow beginning at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 16, 2014, with Bro. Allen Robison officiating. Interment will follow in Linn Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Ussery was born September 29, 1943, to Thomas Edgar Ussery and Audrey Pearl Hillhouse Ussery in Linn, MS. He served in the Army National Guard and was a truck driver for 30 plus years. He loved working outside, gardening, and cookouts; but mostly he loved time with his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Edgar Ussery and Audrey Pearl Hampton; sister, Linda Soliz; and companion, Donna Pierce.
Mr. Ussery is survived by his son, William D. Ussery, Jr. of Indianola; siblings, Tony Ussery of Lithia, Fl, Ruth Arnold of Doddsville, MS, and Shirley Faye Robison (Leroy) of Moorhead; brother-in-law, Arthur Soliz of Cleveland; and a host of stepchildren, nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Russ Wood, Lee Robison, Randy Whitfield, Zachary Whitfield, John Garcia, Richard Creekmore, Terry Kelly, and Ledell Robison.
