William Weaver

William Wayne Weaver “Bill”, passed away on January 23, 2025, at the age of 85. Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 27, 2025, at Ray Funeral Home in Cleveland, MS. Celebration of Life Service will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be at Delta Heights Memorial Garden Cemetery in Cleveland, MS.

Bill was born on August 3, 1939, to Selby and Mary Weaver in the Mississippi Delta. Bill's journey through life was marked by hard work, dedication to family, and a deep sense of community. He attended Cleveland High School and later married Edna Marion Langston on April 17, 1964. 

Bill devoted much of his life to the construction industry. He worked alongside his father at Weaver Construction before opening his own successful business, Weaver Floor Service, with his son, Greg. His strong work ethic and commitment to quality service earned him respect in the community.

Bill went straight to the Marines from school where he was a dedicated member of the Marine Corps, Bill proudly served his country, embodying the values of bravery and resilience as a jet mechanic during the Cuban Crisis in 1962. After his military service, he continued to give back to his community through his involvement in local organizations. He was a member of both the American Legion and the Moose Lodge, where he made many lasting friendships and contributed his time and talents.

Bill was not only known for his impressive accomplishments but also for his gentle spirit. He was adored and loved by his great-grandchildren and was described as a quiet and sweet man who would do anything for anyone. His family was truly the center of his universe.

He was preceded in death by his father, Selby Keen Weaver; mother, Mary Weaver Yarborough; wife, Edna Marion Weaver; son, Greg Weaver; daughter, Lyn Weaver; brother, Richard Weaver; and sister, Betty Joyce Dimoff.

Bill is survived by his brother, Tony Weaver and wife Cindy; grandchildren, Mari Mackenzie Winters (TJ), David Weaver, and Joseph Weaver; and great-grandchildren, Chase, Adelyn, and Ansley Winters; along with a host of nieces and nephews. 

The legacy of William “Bill” Weaver is one of love, kindness, and unwavering support for his family and community. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
