From his birth in Shelby, on January 31, 1939, until his death on Sunday he had lived in Bolivar County. He was born on a farm near Shelby to Woodrow Sr. and Vera (Beck) Isaacks and was the oldest of seven children. Wesley attended school in Shelby, Pace, and in Rosedale before leaving to help his father farm. Early in his career Wesley worked at Layne Central. He was employed at Color Tile for 38 years, where he worked in maintenance until the plant closed in 1995. Then he worked at International Plastics, in Drew, MS, and finally at Engines, Inc., from which he retired in 2002. Wesley met Joyce Parker in December 7th, 1969, and after a whirlwind romance and a short engagement, they were married July 18th, 1970. Six years later, in February of 1976, they had their only child, a boy, Woodrow Wesley Isaacks III, whom they nicknamed "Chip." Wesley will be remembered as the patriarch of the Isaacks family, a hard worker, a loyal friend, and loving husband and father. The Isaacks family would like to extend our gratitude to all the staff at Shelby Health and Rehab, for their attentiveness and loving care.
Wesley was preceded in death by his parents, brother Jerry, sister Bettie Mitchell, brother Lindel, and brother Donald.
Wesley is survived by his wife, Joyce; his son, Chip (Melanie) Isaacks; four grandchildren; Savannah, Wesley (IV), Talen, and Rowan; a brother, Jimmie; and a sister, Phyllis and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Wesley's name to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
