Yvonne Bennett

Yvonne Bennett passed away on December 11, 2024, in Oxford, Mississippi, at the age of 78. 

Yvonne was born on June 30, 1946, to Walter Burlon and Mildred Morgan Barbour in Cleveland, Mississippi. She was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who touched the lives of many.

Yvonne attended Cleveland High School, where she cultivated friendships that would last a lifetime. Her vibrant personality and loving spirit made her a source of comfort and joy to those who were fortunate enough to know her. She was known for her nurturing nature, always putting her family first, and her legacy of love will resonate deeply within their hearts. 

Yvonne's life was marked by both the joy of family and the sorrow of loss. She was predeceased by her parents, Walter Burlon and Mildred Morgan Barbour; her son, Terry Bennett; and son-in-law, Jeff Duke. Each of these losses shaped her, but she continued to embody resilience and love in the face of adversity.

Yvonne is survived by her husband, Herbert Bennett Jr.; daughter, Memorie Lyons (Jimmy), as well as her daughter Beth Duke. She also leaves behind her brother, Burl Barbour (Ann) as well as, 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. They carry forward her spirit and the lessons of kindness and generosity that she imparted throughout her life.

Her memory will be honored by her family and friends, who will cherish the beautiful moments shared together and the unwavering love she gave so freely. Yvonne Bennett will be remembered as a remarkable woman who made a lasting impact on everyone around her.
