Clyde Herman Denton

Mr. Clyde Herman Denton, 79, of Paducah, KY, passed away March 21, 2019, at McCulan VA Medical Center in Little Rock, AR.  Visitation will be 11:00 to 1:00 Tuesday, March 26, 2019, at Ray Funeral Home.  A Celebration of Life service will immediately follow beginning at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2019, at Ray Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Nicholes officiating. Interment will be in Beulah Cemetery.

Clyde was born in Coffeeville, MS, on March 18, 1940, to Alberta Loujean Melton Denton and Johnny Clyde Denton.  He proudly served the United States Army in Germany. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Alberta Loujean Melton Denton and Johnny Clyde Denton; siblings, Thomas Lee Denton and Hubert Donald Denton; in-laws, Richard Lee Estes, and Tommy Pinion.

Clyde is survived by his daughter Melinda Atkins of Denison, TX; his loving partner of thirty years, Gladys Liddia Newsom; step-children, Robert Earl “Bobby” Newsom (Amanda) of Cleveland, Tonya Lorraine Neathery (Tony) of Cherokee Village, AR, and Sonya Lorraine Strait (Clifton) of Paducah, KY; grandchildren, Blake Hurst (Dani) of Phoenix, AZ, Jessie Reed of Denison, TX, Bret Reed of Denison, TX, Courtney Martin (Keith) of Elizabeth, AR, Shelby Newsom of Cleveland, MS, Lydia Strait of Paducah, KY, Haley Newsom of Cleveland, MS, Brooke Strait of Paducah, KY, Paige Strait of Paducah, KY, and Bentley Foster of Cherokee Village, AR;  great-grandchildren, Tripp Hurst of Phoenix, AZ, McKeana Martin of Elizabeth, AR, and Hadlee Martin of Elizabeth, AR; siblings, Dorothy Anne Wells (Willard) of Murphy, TX; Linda Carolyn Martin (Myron) of Vicksburg, MS, Mary Nell Estes of Whitehaven, TN; Rickey Wayne Denton (Sherri) of Royse City, TX, Nancy Gail Pinion of Hernando, Elizabeth Kay Place (Lee) of Cleveland, MS; sister-in-law, Barbara Denton of Richton, MS; and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Robert Earl “Bobby” Newsom, Tony Foster, Danny Pinion, Clifton Strait, Keith Martin, and Jason Norwood. Honorary pallbearers will be Levi Wells and Dick Paulman.
