Obituary of Jimmy Prewitt
Mr. Jimmy Prewitt, 73, of Beulah, MS, passed away on July 2, 2018, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. Visitation will be 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 5, 2018, at Ray Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service will follow beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 5, 2018, at Ray Funeral Home with Rev. Carl Prewitt officiating. Interment will be in New Cleveland Cemetery.
Jimmy was born in Cleveland, MS, on September 20, 1944, to Aubrey M. Prewitt and Idabelle Griffin Prewitt. He worked for over twenty years as a Machinist in the tool and die industry. He loved riding and breaking horses, fishing, and hunting; but more than anything, he enjoyed having a good time while listening to music.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Aubrey M. and Idabelle Griffin Prewitt; brother, Kenneth Aubrey “Butch” Prewitt; and sister, Sue Prewitt.
Jimmy is survived by his sons, Ronald Prewitt (Christy) of Collierville, TN, and Robert Prewitt (Jennifer) of Brandon, MS; grandchildren, Sylvia Smith (Paul) of Leesburg, MS, Dakota Prewitt of Jasper, AL, Riley Prewitt of Brandon, Garrett Prewitt of Collierville, and Whitman Prewitt of Collierville; 3 great grandchildren; brother, Donald Prewitt of Malvina, MS; and sister, Earline Tartt of Enid, MS.
Pallbearers will be Bo Prewitt, Paul Smith, Joey Weeks, John Ferguson, Chase Ables, and Larry Manrriquez.
